<Royal-Engineer>The shadow was at the castle once more. He had reread that letter over and over again in his free time, and tonight he was a bit shaky. Nervous was one way to describe it. He needed to get some candy tonight and get it mailed tomorrow or else he and some others would be stuck as their current forms. He certainly had desperation and was a bit more cautious this time as he knew once he decided to go towards another area to snatch some sweets, he was probably going to be on his own and he couldn't rely on teamwork and dumb luck to help him through. .. Okay, so maybe he could rely on the latter, but that's some horrible planning. And with what little time he had, attempting to get help wasn't the brightest choice. He was somewhat adjusted to solo work, but more than half of his adventure had been with the princess or someone else, so this just added to the risk. It was either meet someone in the next few moments of hesitation, meet them along the way, or nothing at all. He took in a deep breath and looked towards the town, if the other townsfolk wasn't like that mean man, maybe he'd have some luck. Yes, he'd go there first... most likely.

<Royal-Darknut>Stalfos's tatters of chain mail jingled quietly when the wind caught them. As he trudged along, his joints creaked. Every now and then, a trickle of dust wafted from in between the bones, remnants of his disintegrated flesh. The southern gate of Hyrule Castle Town loomed over the field ahead. A wooden drawbridge spanned the moat that divided the settlement's walls from the field. In the middle of the bridge, Stalfos stopped, looked around a bit. Other than the spasmodic clang of two Helmasaurs engaging each other in a head-butting contest, there was nothing noteworthy. Particularly, no Hylian soldiers outside the gate.
Stalfos found this slightly unusual. But, then he shrugged stiffly and resumed his crossing. The wooden gate set into the wall was ajar. Stalfos shouldered it open, walked inside into Castle Town. The streets were deserted. Everyone was in bed. Up and down the street, a few windows were lit. Nothing more than that. Stalfos walked up the street, and hung a right. He was looking for a candy kitchen. He would relieve the Hylians of their product, then trek across the plains to Kakariko, and repeat the process there. A burlap sack, liberated from a Bulbin, hung limply from Stalfos's bony hip. He would carry his haul in it.
He began his search on the side streets, then methodically worked his way to the larger, more worn and frequently traveled paths. He walked by a small dog. It yapped a little at first. Stalfos looked at it, and i froze. Then scampered away in a hurry. Soon after, Stalfos found what he was looking for. A sweets shop, in the middle of the town square, just beneath the shadow of a guard tower. A single candle burned somewhere inside. Stalfos approached the door, tried the handle. Finding it locked, he took a step back. Then leaned back and brought his foot to it. The door splintered into two and blasted inward, clear of its hinges. The Hylian shopkeeper that had been tending to something behind the counter, nearly jumped clean of his skin. Stalfos stalked across the floor, and loomed above the counter, casting a patchy shadow over the one behind the counter, as light tended to pass through his infrastructure. He took the bag from his side, and dropped it onto the counter.

<Royal-Engineer>Link arrived to the town shortly and looked around. Which house to start with first? Well, avoid that one house he had alreadypolitely as can be barged into would be a good idea. As he crept around the area a bit, peering into the windows of a few houses and buildings, he came across something quite peculiar. Was that the sweet shop he had previously seen when he had first arrived to this town when he could still show up in the light of the beating sun without feeling an enormous pain? He didn't quite remember the door being damaged when he previously took a quick glance at it. Maybe something was wrong? But should he check it? He did need to get candy soon but curiosity took him over as he as quietly as he could enter the building. The male carelessly thought the scenery would reveal more of what happened than well, the people that were actually in there and took much more note in the former.

<Royal-Darknut>It took a while, but eventually, most of the kitchen's stock was inside Stalfos's bag. To his dismay, there was some left over. He would have to get another bag and come back for it later. He couldn't carry another caramel. The bag was already bursting at the seams. With a rusty grunt, he tied the bag back to his hip. He was about to leave the quaking Hylian candy-maker when he got a fantastic idea. Stalfos went about filling his own rib cage with the shop's confections. He even took a cake, and set it down inside his pelvis. He shook his hips a little to see if it would be safe to carry. Finding it perfectly stable, he turned his back to the candy kitchen, and trudged back out into the darkened streets.

<Royal-Engineer>Around some point, his ditzy part finally snapped to being reasonable and had taken some note of what had just happened. Though quite poorly as he had only managed to figure out who broke the door and saw the creature get out the door after feasting itself on some yummy cake (which now he regretted not noticing earlier and taking a nice bite himself, but heroes have to be nice he reasoned!). He took a quick inspection letting anybody else including the dismayed employee to see if he could find anything that might've been left behind, only resulting in the proud number of near to nothing, making this part pointless when he could've robbed some poor man out of another bowl of candy instead. He gave a sigh and decided to follow the direction of where he saw the other drag itself to. Quickening his pace to in-between a running state and fast jogging, he hoped to catch up and be right behind them.

<Royal-Darknut>Stalfos tromped along, back out the gate, back over the bridge, and back out into Hyrule Field. As he stomped along, he reckoned his situation. He couldn't carry one more piece, even if he wanted to. He would need to find a place to stash his haul in order to carry more. His next stop was to be Kakariko Village. A few hours' walk, but it could be reached within a night. If he wanted to store it, his best bet of getting back to it without having some other candy-hunter stealing it would be to stash it near Kakariko itself. Stalfos hatched an idea.
Kakariko Village locked its north and south gates at night. He couldn't get over the gate. He'd likely fall apart and ruin his catch. So, instead, he simply raised his decrepit scimitar and cleaved the lock a new one. He brushed the gate open, and trudged through towards Renado's sanctuary. The lights were on. Stalfos walked right past it, and up a path slightly beyond, into the village's cemetary.

<Royal-Engineer>He had finally caught up after taking a quick stop to get some candy and managed to somehow get enough to fill one's pocket in the middle of the process, asking himself many questions of which mostly meant the same thing: "Why?" His efforts, what did they amount to? He had managed to get some candy but he could potentially some more if he ignored the other candy thief. Maybe it was because he wanted to rely on someone else to help him on this last night and had just had some words stuck in his throat to get some attention as time had flown on by. Blending in with his dark scheme was probably one of the only ways that he wasn't caught by the stalfos by now, and he'd better grab some attention soon if he wanted to not waste a lot of the precious time he had. Maybe the night could be nice and be a bit longer today, to help him out. He was still amazed he somehow caught up, maybe it was because he was anxious to get this over with? He couldn't figure it out. The matter on hands was more important to deal with as he continued following as obstacles were broken and the sight of a cemetery could be seen. He didn't exactly know that it was a cemetery yet, but he could probably tell soon. "..what is it doing?" he projected his thoughts outloud.

<Royal-Darknut>Stalfos found a suitable headstone and gave it a shove. It rumbled out of the way, and a yellow rupee fell out onto the ground. Stalfos ignored it, and hid the entire stash inside the grave. Shoved the headstone back into place. Unless someone possessed the strength of several very burly men, they wouldn't be able to move it. Good. Because that was the plan. Stalfos turned around and walked back towards Kakariko village.

<Royal-Engineer>The blond had seen it all, he could get candy right now. Not aware of the fact if he tried, it wouldn't work, he had to make a decision and quick if he wanted to go and say something. He could pretend this never happened either way when he did speak. He looked between the direction and the headstone and took another sigh before chasing after the stalfos and finally shouted, "Hey!"

<Royal-Darknut>Stalfos stopped, and slowly turned to face whoever it was. His bones creaked. After a long period of drilling him with his gaze, Stalfos grunted, and rasped, "...What? I'm busy. What do you want?"
If Link didn't hurry, he'd just leave him right there and be on his way. He had a deadline to meet.

<Royal-Engineer>The appearance of the other now that he had a closer look was a bit unnerving but he had to rush this. "C-Can.. youreallyhelpmeoutpleasemister, youhavearingright?Pleasepleaseplease," he rushed his begging, expecting the worst and probably should. Talking wasn't his thing, especially when desperate.

<Royal-Darknut>Stalfos growled, then shouted, "What, what, what!! Slow down, speak clearly! How else do you expect me to understand you?!"
Stalfos stomped his foot on the ground a few times, kicked up some dust.

<Royal-Engineer>Link winced slightly at the response. Well, it was better than he had predicted. "C-Can you, um, help me find some, um um um, candy! H-Help me find candy please?" he probably sounded pathetic at this point, nothing compared to what he should've, but it was already said. Can't take it back anymore. He lifted his hand and pointed to the ring on his finger as an explanation.

<Royal-Darknut>Stalfos cracked his jaw. Another victim of those blasted rings? "Why in the world would I try to help someone reach their goal before me..?"
Stalfos took a few steps forward, slow, intimidating steps. He guessed from the way this one behaved that he would flee. If not..decapitation.

<Royal-Engineer>He sort of half expected this question, yet was still speechless. His brain kept trying to think of responses, yet listening to an imaginary devil and angel on your shoulders wasn't the most efficient way to come up with the proper reason. Gulping, he decided to take a swing at an excuse. "To help," he stated flatly, confidence somewhat trying to re-enter his voice as he frantically watched his future be affected any second now.

<Royal-Darknut>After a conversation that seemed more like an argument, Stalfos took his leave of the shadowy boy with the odd hat, and stomped out of the cemetary into the darkened dirt streets of Kakariko Village. Kakariko wasn't as large as Castle Town was, so if there was a confections' shop around, it wouldn't take long to find. And so it happened that Stalfos found one tucked in between the Hotel and a general store that had a young man's face plastered all over banners waving on the front and a large, ostentatious sign that read Malo Mart.
Stalfos plucked a fresh sack from outside the general store and split the shop's door the same way he'd done the former. He made it quick. He didn't have long before the sun came up. He left with a full bag, a stuffed rib cage, and yet another cake, this one cream cheese, tucked into his pelvis. He made his way back to the Cemetary. Time was of the essence. These people in Kakariko had more backbone. They were probably getting together with the Gorons to form a posse while he was thinking about it.
Stalfos pushed the headstone back and piled his massive haul all together in one spot. Now, he reckoned he had a problem. He could barely carry half of this. How would he..? He snapped his bony fingers and ran back into town as fast as he could manage. He shambled back again with several more of the general store's bags, and filled each one until all of them were bursting at the seams. He tied their openings all together with a length of rope. Hefting the bulging sacks over one shoulder, he carried it out of town, then hailed the Postman. He signed the address, and his name, then sent the nervous man in shorts along his way, though it took the Postman much longer to make his exit under his burden.
Stalfos brushed his hands together, and went about his business. If he'd earned his old body back, the one he was most comfortable with, he would know it shortly enough. Though, he had to admit. Being a Stalfos had its benefits.
Here is the Halloween event RP I did with Royal-Engineer. Note that at one point, the Stalfos places a cake in his pelvis and carries it like that, to which he responds by saying that Stalfos ate it. We amended that. He admitted to being tired and not paying attention. Also, near the end, I had to wrap it up by myself with that huge post because Engineer was busy with someone else, so there's that. Overall, I think I did pretty good in the time I had, cleaning out two sugar shops. We'll see what the admins think.
